Why do I need an orthodontics specialist?

If you’re thinking about orthodontic treatment, consider a doctor who is specialized in moving teeth: an orthodontist. Orthodontists are dental school graduates who continue their education for an additional two to three years in a specialty program/residency accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. Orthodontist are specialist focusing not only on straightening the teeth but also aligning the jaws and providing proper tooth function for a stable bite.

Do I still need to see my dentist?

Absolutely. Dentists, who are also known as general or family dentists, are concerned with overall oral health and are licensed to provide general care. Dentists are trained to prevent dental disease, focusing on restoring health to compromised sick teeth. Your general dentist will manage your tooth and gum health for a lifetime. We find the best results occur during a partnership with your dentist. Regular check-ups and cleaning are important during treatment to achieve an ideal result.
